Witness Appeal: Good Friday Assault

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for any witnesses to the assault that occurred on Good Friday [Apr.6] at the Southampton Rangers Sports Club.

A spokesperson said, “Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with any information with regard to the serious assault that occurred on Friday April 6th in the area of Southampton Rangers Sports Club. It appears that around 6:15pm, police responded to a report of a serious assault.”

“As a result of a disturbance, one man was wounded and conveyed to KEMH via ambulance. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

“Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 295-0011 or the independent, confidential Crimestoppers hotline at 800-8477.”

It is unofficially understood the incident involved a group of men, with one or more wielding a machete. It was the second violent incident on Good Friday, following an early morning shooting in Somerset which left one man injured.
