Skippy KICK Martial Arts Competition Results

The Skippy KICK Martial Arts competition celebrated its 25th Anniversary edition at Pembroke Sunday School on Sunday [Nov 4].

The Grand Champions in Youth Divisions were Ridwaan Shamsedeen, Kyaunte Young and Soumya Pitcher. Kent Bean was the only competitor to win in three events, he placed first in Form and Weapons with Corey Outerbridge second both times, and he had a walkover victory in sparring.

Double event winners were Sancho Smith for Form and Sparring, and Andrea Mckey, with a Double Grand Championship for Forms and Weapons, Jasmyn Renfroe was the Grand Champion runner-up.

For their consistent level of performance over the last several years at this event, Bean and Renfroe have been invited to represent the Bermuda Karate Organization in Washington DC at John Chung’s World Cup in January 2013.

    Congratulations to of all the competitors. It is positive to see the new participants, young and older coming out and challenging regular champions. I enjoyed some fiery youth categories.
    Young and old artists, come out, inspire, and support through participation and/or cheering on newcomers as well as regulars. Great spirit!
