photo (1)The Bermuda U/15 Football Team won their 4th consecutive game in the CONCACAF Championships being held in the Cayman Islands, defeating Aruba 3-1 last night [Aug 18].

Bermuda’s starting lineup was: Yanai Smith-Davis, Ahria Simons, Jordan Lambe, Amar Lewis, Vance Wall-Brown, Jason Symonds, Jai-zel Smith-Deshields, Aaron Burgess, Jecoa Thomas, Osagi Bascome and Justin Bell.

Bermuda took the lead in the 7th minute when Osagi Bascome took a quick free kick down the line to Jecoa Thomas, and his cross fond skipper Amar Lewis who headed the ball home.

Bermuda went up 2 – 0 three minutes later, with Jai-zel Smith-Deshields taking a touch from the edge of the box and chipping past the goalkeeper who was off his line. The two teams went into the half with Bermuda leading 2 – 0.

Some excellent play down the right involving Justin Bell, Aaron Burgess and Ahria Smith saw Smith-Deshields find some space in the box and score again to make it 3 – 0 in the 36th minute.

Three minutes later Bermuda conceded their first goal of the tournament as Aruba’s Ryan Illes scored from a corner.

Bermuda is now 4-0 in the CONCACAF U15 Championships, having defeated the Bahamas, the US Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Aruba.
