Bermuda Attending Rugby 7s Festival In UK

Bermuda Rugby is set to be represented at the Bournemouth Rugby 7s Festival in the United Kingdom from May 22 through 24, with a Bermuda 7s Select team to attend.

The Bermuda 7s Select squad will consist of a number of Bermuda players who live either on island and have traveled to the UK or players who are currently living overseas due to their education or employment. The team will also have a number of invitational players assisting to strengthen the squad as Bermuda will face some of Europe’s top rugby 7s teams.

Bournemouth 7s is not only the largest rugby 7s event, but also the largest sporting festival in Europe, serving as a test for players looking to compete for places on the Bermuda National Team in the upcoming NACRA Championships and Olympic Qualifiers in North Carolina next month.

Bermuda was invited to participate in the competition by Viper10 sportswear, who are one of the festival’s main sponsors and kit providers.

The Bermuda 7s Select squad includes Dan Cole – Bermuda Police RFC, Liam Bird – Manchester Rugby, Gareth Cripps-Jones – Tadley RFC, Chris Dennehy – Aberystwyth Uni, Simeon Edwards – Teachers RFC, Jack Ellison – Teachers RFC, David Lunn – SciencesPo [France], Dylan O`Kelly-Lynch – Aberystwyth Uni, Henry Paddison – Teachers RFC, Jack Parsons – Gorden RFC [Australia], Joe Tomalin-Reeves -Aberavon RFC, and Liam Wyatt – Bermuda Police RFC.

The team’s progress will be updated during the event via the Bermuda Rugby Football Union’s social media platforms and the festival website.
