January 13, 2015

DSC_4703The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced the continuation of the BCB National Academy Fast-Track program in the Spring 2015 semester.

The Fast-Track program was introduced as a natural extension to the BCB Academy program that provides elite cricket development opportunities delivered in conjunction with mandatory life-skill elements. The Spring Academy will run for 10 weeks on Sundays at BHS.

President of the BCB, Lloyd Fray, noted, “The BCB academy has an outstanding record of producing international class cricketers. Christian Burgess, Tre Manders, Delray Rawlins, Kamau Leverock, Terryn Fray and Onias Bascome are all graduates.

“I wish to thank our sponsors that allow us to provide not only top class high performance development but numerous character building elements. In particular the Bank of Bermuda Foundation and the XL Foundation deserve special mention.”

The BCC said internationally certified coaches deliver high performance training for:

  • 1 on 1 skill development [each week] for 9 batsmen [including one female cricketer]
  • 3 wicketkeepers
  • A 4 person spin bowling group
  • 2 Groups of 6 seam bowlers

I am not sure that Mr Lloyd Fray should be making statments that give the impression that the BCB academy are solely responsible for the development of said players when these players showed promise and potential before the BCB stepped up to take all the credit when we know that isn’t the case …. I think the BCB executives still have their head up their ***** and are taking credit for things they dont do and will piggyback their failed agenda on anyones success even if they only deserve a single accolade they try to swoop in for all of the credit !!!

Got my fingers crossed in the future because not sure how the same executives that have been in charge of a broken failing system all of a sudden have got it right now ………… Time will tell if failing miserably is still their strong point !!!

The Academy program is a joke ask the parents they have complained and the executives have not responded. It just looks good on paper and those players the president named did not come out of the academy infect some they are certainly piggy backing on as they did not have them in their program at all. Follow all the players that went on their first academy tour to the UK a few years ago and the one to Australia those the ones you should be talking about as coming out of your program. Mr. Fray Neil has written your script again and you look none the wiser sad cause you are such a nice and intelligent guy.
