Sunday June 14th: “Good News” Spotlight
The inaugural Bermuda Heroes Weekend kicking off, Bermuda College releasing its Voices in Education journal, Aon Staff offering volunteer service to several island groups while KPMG did the same at Dellwood Middle School, and Miss Bermuda Lillian Lightbourn appearing in a Footwear News fashion spread were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
On a sporting note, Christopher Douglas won the Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award, sprinter Tre Houston qualified for the World Championships, Ashley Berry and Shianne Smith shattered Bermuda national records, local cyclist Eddie Roberts supported Bermuda charities while riding in New York City, Jessica Lewis recorded an impressive victory in a 100m race held in Switzerland and the Bermuda football team held Guatamala to a 0-0 draw.
In addition we posted various community photo galleries, including Raleigh Bermuda’s Graduation & Launch Ceremony, the 2015 Alpha Beautillion, netball action from BNA’s summer league, the Grotto Bay Tennis Club’s Preschool Tennis Exhibition, the Rubber Duck Derby in St, George’s, a 20 year anniversary celebration by the Bermuda Guild of Stitchery, a trio of super yachts that recently paid us a visit, the Celebrity Cricket Festival, Bermuda Heroes Weekend and the Round the Island Seagull Race.
