Videos: Bermuda’s Netball Games In Scotland
Bermuda recently competed at the European Netball Championship in Scotland, recording 2 wins and 2 losses.
The team got off to a very impressive start, recording a very dominant victory in their opening game, defeating Israel by a score of 70 – 28 on Friday [May 12].
Bermuda jumped out to a 16 – 6 lead at the end of the first quarter, at the half time break Bermuda held a 31 – 15 lead, and they then held a 28 point lead at the end of the third quarter at 51 – 23. Bermuda would then score 19 goals in the final quarter, while only allowing Israel to score 5 goals, and they went on to win 70 – 28.
Bermuda’s top scorer was Danielle Raynor, who outscored the opposing team by herself with 37. Jahtuere Trott scored 15, Talia Lucas scored 18, with the whole team contributing to this impressive victory.
Bermuda vs Israel – May 12
Bermuda’s netball team continued on Saturday, taking on Ireland and Gibraltar.
Ireland defeated Bermuda by a score of 44 – 24, with Danielle Raynor scoring 20, while Talia Lucas and Jahtuere Trott scored twice. The first quarter saw Ireland take a 12 – 8 lead, and by half time their lead was 20 -12. They were up 34 – 18 by the end of the third quarter and the game ended 44 – 24.
Bermuda vs Republic of Ireland – May 13
The second match of the day saw a closely contested match with Gibraltar, who defeated Bermuda by a score of 50 – 44. Danielle Raynor had 32, Talia Lucas scored 3, while Jahtuere Trott recorded 9 goals. The first quarter saw Gibraltar lead 13 – 9, by the end of the second quarter they held a 26 – 21 lead, and by the end of the third quarter they were up 38 – 29.

Bermuda closed out their participation in the European Netball Championship in Scotland with a win, recording their second victory over Israel.
Bermuda took on Israel in their final Invitational Section match of the tournament, and with a win under their belt already against Israel, the team looked confident and took control from the outset.
Bermuda vs Israel – May 14
The first center pass was with Israel who were penalised. Bermuda’s first point of the game came from Danielle Raynor following a pass from Talia Lucas, Raynor would double her score soon after moments later, Israel looked to mount an attack from the base line and they would net their first point. Bermuda continued to control the tempo and would build a lead of 16-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter would see both teams exchange goals with both scoring 10 as Bermuda lead 26-18 at the break, and in the third quarter Bermuda were very much on the front foot and took a 39-28 lead at the break, and finished the game winning 50 – 36.
