Video: Sunday August 15th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Kamilah Cannonier has been selected as the recipient of the E. Laverne Furbert Continuing Education Award, model Kyra-Jaye Hinds will be featured on a British TV show, Flora Duffy won yet another gold medal, and Appleby awarded education scholarships and bursaries to Briana Medeiros, Egypt Cann, Milaun Perott, and Jada Rogers-Ingemann were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Zeiko Lewis earned the Man of the Match award for Charleston Battery, Ne-Jai Tucker scored twice in a Burnley U23 win, Kathryn Mason was awarded the KPMG Scholarship, Owenea Roberts was selected as the recipient of Frontier’s 2021 Scholarship, BELCO announced the recipients of their scholarships, with a total of approximately $200,000 awarded to 14 young Bermudians, Kameron Young completed a virtual internship, and the 2021 AXA XL scholarship was awarded to Ywione Darrell.
In more good news, Kiwon Waldron won at the Midwestern Classic, Delia Ebbin signed with Barry Town United Ladies, Flora Duffy was nominated for an Olympic Visa Award, Bermuda won the Asia & Pacific Captive Award, Wilton Re and Take Five donated 500 meals, and BE Solar’s Director of Sales Joanna Frith obtained the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners PV Associate Certificate.
