Video: Sunday Feb 27th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the Bermuda women’s national football team defeated the Cayman Islands 6-0, the Bermuda Arts Council honoured Major Kenneth Dill, Marjorie Pettit, the late Ted Ming, Daren Herbert and Paul and Penelope Leseur at its annual awards ceremony, BF&M donated $75,000 to the College Foundation, Emma Harvey helped set new school record in relays, and Glenn Fubler and Christopher Maybury were inducted as Honorary Fellows were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Caitlin Conyers finished second in a time trial in Arizona, Trey Mallory helped UNC Wilmington win, Natasha Trott officiated a Concacaf qualifier match, Oliver Betschart finished tied for fifth at the Texas Winter Classic, Rockal Evans won the Eden Cup Finn Class in Australia, and Daniel Phillips won an ITF Title in Guatemala.
Other good news stories included Ariel Re donating over $16,000 to families, Marva Trott earning a Raleigh Volunteer Award, Bermuda being featured on the WCVB television show ‘Chronicle,’ and Wallpaper Wednesday featuring pink lipstick set in a Bermuda flag design.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the fourth week of ‘Bermuda Reads with Berkeley,’ Glenn Jones being featured on billboards in Boston, an event highlighting a personal empowerment initiative at Westgate Correctional Facility, and six people being honoured by the Bermuda Arts Council.
