Footballers in both the FA Challenge Cup and Premier Division were recently in action, with Somerset Trojans and PHC Zebras both earning wins.
FA Challenge Cup: Somerset Trojans 2 – Hamilton Parish 1
The Somerset Trojans and Hamilton Parish battled for a spot in the Quarter-Finals of the FA Challenge Cup at the Somerset Cricket Club.
The Somerset Trojans took the lead in the 22nd minute when Jaden Ratteray Smith found the back of the net, and held that lead until the break.
Hamilton Parish equalized in the 62nd minute through a Shayne Hollis goal.
The Somerset Trojans left it until stoppage time to find the winner as Tevahn Tyrell found the back of the net, sending the Somerset Trojans to face the Dandy Town Hornets in the Quarter-Finals.
Premier Division: PHC Zebras 11 – X-Roads 1
At the BAA Field, the PHC Zebras earned an emphatic victory over X-Roads, with an 11 – 1 victory.
X-Roads took the lead in this match in this match in the 30th minute through an own goal. The PHC Zebras were level in the 32nd minute when Marco Warren scored, an own goal gave the PHC Zebras a 2 – 1 lead with a goal in the 33rd minute before Antwan Russell made it 3 – 1 in the 38th minute. Enrique Russell then made it 4 – 1 in the 42nd minute before Antwan Russell scored his second of the match to make it 5 – 1.
One minute into the second half, Keishon Bean got in on the scoring act making it 6 – 1 to the PHC Zebras. Enrique Russell scored his second goal of the match in the 50th minute making it 7 – 1, then completed his hat-trick one minute later to make it 8 – 1.
In the 63rd minute, Antwan Russell would complete his hat-trick making it 9 – 1, Makai Joell scored in the 77th minute to make it 10 – 1, and the eleventh goal for the PHC Zebras came in the 83rd minute when Kushae Hypolite hit the back of the net.
