Video: ESPN Features Dante Leverock’s Goal
The accolades keep rolling in for the goal by Bermuda’s Dante Leverock in last night’s match against Guyana, with the spectacular goal being featured by ESPN as one of the Top 10 Sports Plays.
The goal being showcased on the ESPN broadcast follows after FIFA highlighted the goal to their 15 million Twitters followers, suggesting that it could be a contender for the FIFA Puskás Award, which is given to the most aesthetically significant goal.
In addition to the highlights from ESPN and FIFA — two of the biggest names in sports — a look online indicates that multiple international media have reported on the goal, including French, German and Spanish media outlets.
Mr Leverock was also congratulated in the Senate this morning, with Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport Dr. Ernest Peets congratulating him, while Senator Michelle Simmons also extended her congratulations, noting that she thought his goal was so acrobatic it was like she was watching gymnastics.
Strike partnership with Nahki? In case you didn’t know Dante was a prolific striker growing up.
Nahki plays his best football playing off a big centre forward like he had at Bradford.
The two former Dandy Town youth players could link up and take this team to a next level.
