Football: PHC Zebras & Ireland Rangers Win
Footballers in the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with PHC Zebras and Southampton Rangers earning wins.
Premier Division
PHC Zebras 3 – Somerset Trojans 1
At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras came from behind to defeat the Somerset Trojans 3 – 1.
Jaden Ratteray-Smith scored from a rebound in the 19th minute to give the Somerset Trojans the lead, they would hold that lead until the break.
In the 48th minute, T’ysi Showers equalized for the PHC Zebras, and then in the 74th minute Paul Simons scored to give the PHC Zebras a 2 – 1 lead, and Diondre Dowling added a third goal for the PHC Zebras in stoppage time to earn them the three points.
First Division
Somerset Eagles 2 – Ireland Rangers 5
The Somerset Eagles early season struggles continued with a 5 – 2 defeat at the White Hill Field against Ireland Rangers.
Leo Burgess scored twice in the first half, with Tahj Wade adding another as Ireland Rangers took a 3 – 0 lead to the break.
In the second half Burgess would complete his hat-trick, while Whakail Tucker added another for Ireland Rangers, the Somerset Eagles got single strikes from Dane Simmons and Ethan Fubler.
