Video: Sunday Oct 29th “Good News” Spotlight
News that Nia Christopher was named the Coastal Athletic Association [CAA] Women’s Soccer League’s Attacking Player of the Year, Carmel Butterfield received the Dr Joanne Barbara Pratt Bursary Award from the Bermuda Occupational Therapy Association, Jovan Jordan-Whitter was named 2023 LEC Coach of the Year, the Garden Club of Bermuda donated $40,000 to four charities, and Zhani Burgess signed with Notts County were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, cyclist Conor White won a bronze medal at the PanAm Games, former Bermuda Olympic Association President Judy Simons was honoured by Centro Caribe Sports, Tyler Christopher earned his eighth straight victory with a points win over Connor Meanwell in Birmingham, and Emma Harvey broke a Bermuda national record
Other good news stories included the Dr. Eva Hodgson Racial Justice Award winners being announced, Saltus U13 earning a win at the CAIS Football Championship, Sebastian Kempe placing second at the ILCA World Championships, and Katura Horton-Perinchief working as an official at the Pan American Games in Chile and on the Panam Sports Technical Commission.
