Tomorrow’s Voices Donate To Care Home
Tomorrow’s Voices marked its 16th anniversary with a community outreach project, visiting the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility where they made a donation of a “Tea Party in a Box” to the residents of the rest home.
A spokesperson said, “In a heartwarming display of community spirit and a commitment to giving back, Tomorrow’s Voices, Bermuda’s first and only Autism Early Intervention Centre and Adult Day service program catering to individuals aged 2 and above, celebrated its 16th Anniversary by organizing a community outreach project during their Saturday Social Skills Group [SSG] session on October 28. The event not only allowed for community interactions, but it also underscored the importance of community service.
“Within the Social Skills Group session, the clients took part in discussions about the significance of community service and its potential to make a positive impact on society. As a fitting tribute to Tomorrow’s Voices’ journey, the SSG attendees embarked on a special mission. They motorcaded to the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility where they made a heartwarming donation of a “Tea Party in a Box” to the residents of the rest home.
“Tomorrow’s Voices, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities, had thoughtfully curated this generous gift package. One highlight of the box was a China tea set, designed to create moments of joy and connection.
“Another highlight was individual pictures created by our SSG clients that the residents could have to display in their rooms as well as a large hand-crafted canvas painting, designed by Tomorrow’s Voices Thriving Beyond 21 [TB21] Adult Day Service clients. In a call to action, all SSG attendees were encouraged to contribute tea party-related items that would complement the china set and pictures, fostering an atmosphere of shared happiness and togetherness.
“The “Tea Party in a Box” initiative aimed to bring smiles and warmth to the residents of the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility. The thoughtfully assembled items included packaged cookies, an assortment of flavoured tea bags, honey, crackers, clotted cream and jam, ensuring that every aspect of a delightful tea gathering was considered.”
“Representatives of the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm for the SSG participants’ active involvement in the community outreach project. The leading clinicians of the Oct 28 Saturday Social Skills Group session, highlighted the importance of teaching individuals about community service and the profound impact it can have on both the giver and the receiver. Dr Jahnae Harvey, Tomorrow’s Voices Senior Behavior Therapist, emphasized, “Our mission extends beyond therapy and skill-building. It’s about nurturing a sense of empathy, compassion, and responsibility among our SSG attendees.”

“Tomorrow’s Voices has been a pillar of support for individuals who have autism and other developmental disabilities in Bermuda for the past 16 years. The organization has consistently worked to enhance the lives of individuals with autism, offering a range of services which include 1:1 clinical behavioral services, group-based adult services, group-based Saturday social skills sessions, community engagement via bi-monthly workshops and university internship placements. Their commitment to not only building skills but also instilling values of compassion and service is a testament to their holistic approach.
