Coast Guard Tows Fishing Vessel To Shore
On Sunday [Dec 24], the RBR Coast Guard towed the the local fishing vessel Provider back to Mangrove Bay after it became disabled.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “Local 35 foot fishing vessel Provider reports on VHF radio being disabled 2.3 miles west southwest of Chubb Heads Beacon with 2 persons onboard. Seas offshore are in the range of 6-7 feet with increasingly gusty easterly winds in passing showers.
“Tow required due to engine problem due to a suspected cooling issue. Vessel is able to anchor to prevent further drift offshore. RBR-Coast Guard tasked to proceed out to Provider and they commence a tow back to shore, arriving back in Mangrove Bay by 2:00pm.”
