Video: Sunday April 7th “Good News” Spotlight
News that the BIU’s Renée Jones is featured in the BWI Women Workers’ Calendar, Caitlyn Bobb earned the female track performer of the week award from the America East Conference, Raelyn Robinson, Antonia Walker, and Anna Neururer won BELCO Kite Safety Poster campaign awards, and Jessica Almeida Harris and Katie Martin were among the lawyers promoted by Conyers were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Kole Hall scored twice for Scarborough Athletic in a stunning 4-3 comeback win, Nahki Wells scored a winner for Bristol City, Sincere Hall scored in a Hull City U21 victory, Ryan Outerbridge won an invitational 1500 meter event, Bermuda swimmers won multiple medals at the Carifta Games, Jake Brislane won two track and field medals at the Carifta Games in Grenada, and PHC Zebras won the Premier Division title.
Other good news stories included the cruise ship Evrima visiting the island, six police officers being commended, HSBC donating $40,000 to the Bermuda College Foundation, three people completing the Appliance Repair Program, and CAS, Family Centre, and Solstice collaborating.
More good news included Jacob Madeiros scoring a penalty winner, Trey Mallory helping UNC Wilmington defeat Delaware, Vasco playing in a U11 Tournament in the Azores, Nisaiah Berkeley and her Lander University women’s rugby teammates winning the Tropical 7s in Florida, and Bury FC signing Jahzyiah Samuels-Williams.
