Video: Sunday Sept 8th “Good News” Spotlight
News that Yushae DeSilva-Andrade and Jessica Lewis achieved top five finishes in the Paralympics, the BPSU presented scholarships to 12 students, Naz Astwood earned the Summit League Peak Defensive Performer of the Week award and the BFRS joined forces with KBB to clean up Whalebone Bay were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news cyclist Kaden Hopkins won another stage in the Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe, Isabella Sousa and Hailey Trott won the bronze medal at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association [ECVA] Under-21 Beach Volleyball Championships, and athletes from the Bermuda Sanshou Association [BSA] secured an impressive haul of medals from the Pan American Wushu Championships in San Clara, California.
Other good news stories included Auto Solutions hosting six summer students: Chelsea Almeida, Jacob King, Khyari Tacklyn-Smith, Jason Lines, Amari Stewart and Sir Devent, the St. George’s Parish Council awarding scholarships to Zyon Minors, Asia Seymour, and Shea-Lah Thomas, and the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre getting a brand-new electric van supported by BF&M and Aspen.
