Minister Wilson Attends Mental Health Fair

Minister Kim Wilson attended the Mental Health Fair, supporting efforts to promote wellness and reduce stigma.

A Government spokesperson said, “On Saturday, May 10th, Minister of Health Kim Wilson attended the Mental Health Fair organized by Bermuda is Love at Bermuda College. During the event, Minister Wilson engaged with vendors, explored their displays, and gained valuable insight into their initiatives aimed at improving mental wellness within the community while working to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health.”

Reflecting on the event, Minister Wilson shared, “I am heartened by the level of participation in this inaugural Mental Health Fair. I commend the organizers and all those involved. It was inspiring to see so many individuals supporting mental health, normalizing conversations around the topic, and actively promoting education and self-help practices.”

The Government spokesperson said, “The Mental Health Fair was one of the many events and activities during May, Mental Health Anti-Stigma Month.”

Minister Wilson added, “There is no health without mental health, and with 1 in 4 people impacted by mental health issues, the Bermuda Government is deeply committed to increasing resources and support for mental health initiatives.

“One of the key initiatives includes the Community Adolescent Mental Health Training Program [CAMHTP], which provides educators and community members with essential skills to identify and address mental health challenges among Bermuda’s youth.

“Additionally, the government has been working on broader health strategies, including universal health coverage and policies aimed at improving overall well-being in Bermuda.”
