Police Investigate Shooting In Smith’s Parish
The police are investigating reports of gunshots in Smith’s, following “reports of multiple gunshots.”
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, police officers were dispatched to the area of Broken Hill Road and Broken Hill Lane, Smiths, following reports of multiple gunshots heard at that location.
“Officers conducted a search and recovered evidence to confirm a firearm had been discharged in the area. Checks conducted at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, revealed no one had attended the facility seeking treatment for firearms related injuries.
“An investigation into this confirmed firearms incident has now commenced and anyone with information is asked to call 211, the main police number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800 8477. You may also provide the information via the BPS reporting portal at portal.police.bm
“We are asking that residents in the area between the junctions of Harrington Sound Road and Knapton Hill and Harrington Sound Road and Paynters Road, with CCTV cameras or other image capturing devices facing the roadway, please check for recordings of any suspicious activity that may have been captured shortly before and after 10:45 p.m. when the gunshots were first reported and make contact with us.”
