Video: Dr Neil Burnie On Tiger Shark Project

At the recently held TEDxBermuda event, veterinarian Dr. Neil Burnie spoke about the Bermuda Shark Project, which swims freely with the sharks and tags them with GPS tracking units to discover some surprising facts about their migration patterns.

Since 2005 the Bermuda Shark Project have sought to de-mystify – and de-stigmatise – the elegant animal which is now being heavily overfished. Led by Dr. Burnie and filmmaker Choy Aming, the Bermuda Shark Project tracks the movements of tiger sharks in Bermuda waters — as well as their migratory habits which often take these maligned fish as far afield as the Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos Islands.
