Health Department’s ‘Celebrating Wellness Event’

The Department of Health is inviting members of the public to join them at Victoria Park on September 12th 2012, at their event ‘Celebrating Wellness’, which has been organized as part of Caribbean Wellness Day [September 8th 2012] and the ongoing ‘Move More Bermuda’ campaign.

A Ministry spokesperson said: “Celebrating Wellness aims to encourage the public to move more and lead a healthy lifestyle, and will highlight a number of ways in which the public can do so. There will be activities for children and adults, and it is advised that attendees wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

“The theme this year will focus on Healthy Children. This is a free event and open to members of the public of ages.

“At Celebrating Wellness the public can take part in Zumba, Jazzercise Lite, TRX, Line Dancing, Nordic Walking, Tai Chi, old fashioned games and more. There will be free health screenings, giveaways and health information. There will also be a number of food vendors who will be selling healthy food options.”
