Jessica Lewis Concludes Competition In France

Over 1,100 of the world’s best para-athletes from 99 countries made their way to France to compete in the IPC World Championships this week, with Bermuda’s own Jessica Lewis among them.

Lewis — Bermuda’s sole representative at the Championships — first competed in the 200m T53 semi-finals on Saturday [July 20], finishing 5th in heat #2 clocking a new season best of 33.95.

She next competed in the 100m, where she hit a season best time of 18.56 to qualify for the finals, where she placed 8th. This morning [July 26] the 20-year-old athlete competed in her final event — the 400m — where she hit a new personal best time of 1:04.78 to placed 4th in her heat.
