Sunday October 30th: “Good News” Spotlight
News that the Flora Duffy won the Xterra World Championships in Hawaii, the Bermuda U-20 World Cup team qualified for the CONCACAF Championship, Lonely Planet named Bermuda in their “Best in Travel 2017 Top Countries” list, and Bermuda was named one of the Best Islands in the World by Conde Nast were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
Other good news stories included a spotlight of Bermudian educator Megan Burgess, swimmer Julian Fletcher setting a new national record, and Chef Michiko Campbell getting ready to offer free Christmas meals again this year.
In additional good news, Bermudian poet Nancy Anne Miller is set to be published in ‘Agenda’, DemBiez released a new music video for the song ‘Picture Of You”, the Robin Hood Football Club teamed up with the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, and Trey Simons was named the SIAC Most Valuable Runner.

Other positive news included the launch of the ‘Island Irreverence’ clothing line, the Bermuda Cricket Board holding its prize presentation, Aaliyah Nolan scoring a hat-trick for Navarro College, and Nicholas Christopher getting set to star in ‘Miss Saigon’.
