28-Year-Old Man Hurt In Motorcycle Crash
A 28-year-old man was found in the road on Middle Road in Devonshire on Friday evening, and “motorcycle debris thought to be from this incident was later found along Frog Lane, Devonshire.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:40pm Friday, January 24th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash in Devonshire.
“It appears that a passing female motorist found a 28-year-old Pembroke man lying in the road – injured and unconscious, but breathing – along Middle Road in Devonshire, near the junction with Montpelier Road. She then called emergency services for assistance.
“The 28-year-old man is understood to have sustained a broken foot and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
“At last check Friday night, he remained in hospital receiving medical care.
“Apparently the black Honda motorcycle the injured man was believed to be riding was found damaged on its stand next to him, in the vicinity of the U.S. Consulate General building – although there was no debris or other indication of a crash in the immediate area.
“However, motorcycle debris thought to be from this incident was later found along Frog Lane, Devonshire near the National Sports Centre North Field and as a result, that area was processed by the relevant police personnel.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses or members of the public with relevant information are encouraged to contact Constable Ainsworth Grant on 247-1181 or e-mail agrant@bps.bm.”
