David Hemp Cited As Warwickshire Candidate

January 10, 2013

Former Bermuda captain David Hemp is in contention for the role of director of cricket at Warwickshire, ESPNcricinfo reports.

Other candidates thought to have shown an interest in the Warwickshire job include former New Zealand, Scotland and Kenya coach Andy Moles, the ECB’s performance director David Parsons and Barbados’ Ottis Gibson.

“The interest of so many high-profile candidates underlines the attraction of the Warwickshire job,” the ESPN report said. “Based at a large, recently redeveloped stadium with excellent facilities, the role pays relatively well and does not require the huge amount of overseas travel involved with an international coaching position.”

Hemp, 42, previously played for the Warwickshire Bears before returning to Glamorgan for the 2002 season.
