Video: Sunday August 13 ‘Good News’ Spotlight
Actor Earl Cameron celebrating his 100th birthday; Chloe Smith, Tashae Trott, and Phoebe Barboza being awarded Paget Parish Scholarship Awards, an eco-conscious baby and child store opening, Allan Douglas Jr. winning the Safe Hands Award, the CPAD Futsal Team winning a gold medal in Florida, and Andrea McKey winning a martial arts competition in Maryland were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Pan-Am Games was observed; Isaiah Richardson, Brieanna Samuels, Caitlyn Lawrence, and Linda Amaral received ABIC/PwC scholarships; the 2017 Bursary Award recipients were announced, and Dain Richardson received an ABICEA Award.
In other good news stories, the BTA website was ranked as a top tourism website, world champion triathlete Flora Duffy was named Bermuda’s tourism ambassador, Bill Murray was “wowed” by Rebecca Faulkenberry, and fashion illustrator Holly Nichols released Bermuda-inspired drawings.
Other good news included Kim Lawrence opening an online zen crystal store, Milan Butterfield joining Leamington on loan, Coldwell being named the top office for island affiliates, Hewvonnie Brown being named Cricket Player of the Week, Hafid James earning his IFBB Pro Card, Freddy Hall signing a contract extension with Limerick FC, and Zeiko Lewis and the Red Bulls defeating Rochester.
