Photos & Video: Sanda Pandas Tournament

The Bermuda Sanshou Association [BSA] hosted its Sanda Pandas Inaugural In-house Tournament in their home gym located at Aries Sports Centre on Thursday.

Fourteen sanda athletes between the ages of 5 and 11 competed in the event. The Sanda Pandas Chinese kickboxing program, under the tutelage of multiple regional champion and world medalist Sentwali Woolridge, has been in operation since April of 2016.

The kids have taken well to the instruction of Coach Woolridge, and have advanced to a level sufficient enough to have a taste of competition.

There were four divisions contested during the tournament. Rounds were best 2 out of 3 with a one minute duration and 30 second rest period. Members of the BSA National Team serves as coaches and judges for the event.
