DeRosa Named SWAC Track Athlete Of Week
Bermuda’s Tiara DeRosa — who competes for Mississippi Valley State — has been named the SWAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
The school’s announcement said, “Mississippi Valley State’s Tiara DeRosa was named the SWAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference.
“DeRosa won the Discus throw event at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational, clearing 45.47 meters [149-02 feet] on her second-to-last attempt. Additionally, the junior set a new Personal Best in the Shot Put, making a toss of 13.31 meters [43-08.00 feet] on her way to a third-place finish in the event.
“The junior transfer is the first MVSU female student-athlete to win a Field Athlete of the Week during the 2018-19 season. The Sandy’s Bermuda native currently ranks Third in the SWAC in the Discus and fifth in the Shot Put.”
