“The new website showcases six weeks of hard work by our team, who stayed on the property in isolation throughout the shelter-in-place mandate. Our new offerings include favorites from the restaurant’s à la carte menu with exciting additions like our newly minted HB Bakery, HB Pantry, and Cook with HB meal-kits.

“One major upside to having a team on property in isolation for 6 weeks has been the ability to self evaluate and brainstorm in a way that we would never have been able to do in a normal operating environment.

“We pushed ourselves to figure out how we could pivot our operation while staying true to our ethos for sea and farm-fresh ingredients, specialty diet requirements, and creative culinary excellence. We also focused on how we could double down on our commitment to Bermuda’s environment and community.

“A good indicator of the creative mindset at Huckleberry is our menu expansion to include family-style meals featuring slow-cooked favorites from our competition-grade smoker. Featured meals include Smoked Chicken, Beef Brisket, Pork Shoulder, Baby Back Ribs, and a Vegetarian Portobello Mushroom Cassoulet.

“These are paired with traditional southern style sides including options like Collard Greens with Bacon, Duck Fat Roasted Potatoes, Smoked Maple Glazed Carrots, and Smoked Mac & Cheese. If you like things a little on the spicy side, you have to try the Blueberry Chipotle BBQ glazed option on the ribs; a secret recipe from one of our owners that brings a whole new dimension to eating ribs.

“Another featured new offering is the HB Bakery: when we closed this past January, we doubled the size of our kitchen facilities to include a new prep kitchen and the addition of dedicated space for freshly prepared baked goods.

“Our intent was to support our bread needs, afternoon tea pastries, and à la carte dessert service as demand for our restaurant offering was growing significantly. This has now morphed into baking fresh goods including a selection of specialty Breads, Pastries, Pies, and Tea Treats for curbside pickup.

“Lastly, the Cook with HB menu [launching next week] features semi-prepared meal kits. Cook with HB focuses on bringing some of the magic from our chefs into your home by simplifying the process of cooking delicious meals yourself.

“We think that right now, people want to plan for a few days of meals at a time to minimize time spent in packed grocery stores; with HB Pantry and Cook with HB, you can order a restaurant-quality meal for tonight along with items to stock your fridge and pantry for the week ahead without having to leave your vehicle.

“Huckleberry has transitioned all sales operations to be completely online in order to maintain and promote a contact-free environment; all payments will now be collected through the website. We will be leveraging direct marketing in order to better engage with our customers and to collect valuable feedback and input to help refine our offerings.
