Video: Sunday May 30th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the island celebrated Bermuda Day, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club donated $3,500 to the Women’s Resource Centre, the family of the late Laverne Furbert offer a new $5,000 scholarship for mature students, and Jayden DeSilva was recognized by the Council of British International Schools were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Djair Parfitt-Williams scored a goal to help Fylkir claim a victory, 250 volunteers took part in the annual Great Big Cleanup event hosted by Keep Bermuda Beautiful, Caitlyn Bobb won three events at a track meet, a virtual version of the Agricultural Exhibition was held, and Nicholas Lopes was crowned Reserve Champion in Boston.
Other good news stories included Focus Counselling Services appointing Danielle Frith and promoting Karla Trott, a new solar system being installed at Family Centre’s headquarters in Pembroke, Shiona Turini working on a new Amazon Original sci-fi series and Justin Donawa scoring in a Solihull Moors victory.
