Video: Sunday August 21st ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that an art piece by Gherdai Hassell is on display in England as part of the World Reimagined programme, Wendell Eve earned the Public Service Excellence Award, physician/scientist Dr. Sheldon Holder has been selected as a finalist for the CureAccelerator grant programme, Jah-Nhai Perinchief won a silver medal at NACAC, and Tahj Cox and Brianna Smith have both earned scholarships from Butterfield were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Ayleal Dill scored in an Eastwood victory, Zyon Minors earned the Polaris Education Award, Amari Ebbin signed with Bellbridge Cricket Club, Willie Clemons scored in a Braintree Town win, and 13 Bermudians who took part in the FinTech Education Programme received their completion certificates at a reception.
Other good news stories included Ice’ces Jackson being awarded the Carey Olsen Investing in People scholarship, Danielle Foote earning the Public Service Bursary Award, the AXA XL Scholarship being awarded to 19-year-old Daniel Osset, Nahki Wells scoring his first goal of the season, Kamau Leverock shining through his side’s ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B campaign, Kole Hall scoring in a Chester FC victory, and Bermuda’s U14 football team notching wins.
