“On behalf of our students, staff, and parents, I wish to thank those who assisted with the inspection of our school buildings and properties this past weekend. I also wish to thank BELCO for prioritising our schools to ensure electricity was restored in time to open schools.”

Minister Rabain concluded, “We are blessed to have weathered the hurricane safely, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow.”

This just typifies the difference between the public and the private system.

Fiona was a graze, there was no major structural damage, of course all schools and colleges will be open. The private system was apologetic about friday, it looks to get back. The public system acts like children themselves, how can we skip school?

It was the same in covid, the same with the mould, it is symptomatic of a public school system in horrible decline. And meanwhile the private system cleans up, with rising numbers, despite the recession.
