Football: Nia Christopher Signs With Eagle FC
Eagle FC Women — a Pennsylvania-based club which plays in the USL W League — announced the signing of Bermuda’s Nia Christopher.
The club’s announcement said, “The Eagle FC Women would like to welcome Towson University and current Bermuda Senior National Team Forward Nia Christopher to the Eagle FC’s 2023 USL W Roster.
“A standout forward from Devonshire, Bermuda, Nia has made 46 appearances [44 starts] for the Tigers, tallying 27 goals and 7 assists, which puts her 2nd all-time in program history in goals, first in program history in game winning goals [10], and 5th all-time in career points [61].
“She was named to United Soccer Coaches All-East Region [2022], the NCAA DI Women’s All-East Region Third Team [2021], x2 All-CAA Conference First-Team, a member of the All-CAA Conference Second-Team, and a member of the CAA All-Rookie Forward Team.
“Additionally, she has appeared in the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championships, 2020 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championships and with the Senior National Team in the 2018 & 2020 CONCACAF Championship Qualifications. Nia, has made 9 appearances for the National Team, scoring 7 goals. She spent last season playing in the UWS League and will be joining us this summer before heading back for her senior year at Towson University.
“It means a lot to be able to compete for Eagle FC in the USL W League. It gives me the opportunity to grow as a player, compete at a high level with high level coaches,” Nia Christopher said.
“Welcome Nia, pending USL W League and federation approval,” the club added.
