Bermuda’s young sailing stars continued to make waves at the 2024 Tuuci Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta in Florida.

Ebbin Makes Snipes Debut

Christian Ebbin joined forces with Caymanian sailor Matheo Capasso to compete in the 22-boat snipes class. The duo got off to a solid start, finishing day one in 8th place with 19 points after two races.

Menzies Maintains Position in ILCA 6

Dylan Menzies, Bermuda’s lone representative in the highly competitive ILCA 6 class, faced two more grueling races, bringing his total to eight for the series. Menzies held firm in 40th place out of 96 boats, accumulating 167 net points.

DeCouto Leads Bermudian Optimist Charge

In the massive 222-boat optimist fleet, Benjamin DeCouto continued to lead the Bermudian contingent. After eight races, DeCouto sits in 135th place with 292 net points. Rex Henagulph remains in close pursuit in 148th place with 331 net points, while Sean Pedro improved to 151st.

Calypso Coulter [164th], Aaron Riker [175th], James DeCouto [199th], and Alfie Jansma [203rd] round out the Bermudian optimist sailors, all gaining valuable experience against a world-class field.

Beale Takes Charge in Green Fleet

Jacob Beale surged to the top of the Bermudian leaderboard in the green fleet, designed for less experienced sailors. After nine races, Beale sits in 40th place with 319 net points. Ethan Adelsberg follows closely in 43rd place with 355 net points. Hudson Pitcher [45th] and Eamon Tiwari [60th] also continue to compete in the 72-boat fleet.
