[Updated with video] Curly’s Walking Football Club drew 2-2 with Liverpool FC Community WFC in the second match of their UK tour yesterday [November 27].

The team came back from two goals down thanks to a brace from Khomeini Talbot.

Chris Gibbons, a member of the team, told Bernews: “Again, we proved adaptable to local rules, only learning moments before kick-off that we would be playing 11-a-side with running, but not full sprinting.

“We held our own against a fitter and more experienced side, with goalkeeper David Chew making some important saves, only conceding one fierce long-range effort before half-time.”

The team conclude their tour with an indoor game in Bootle today.

John Miranda, Gordon Stewart, Elijah Lowe, George Butterfield, Chris Gibbons, Leroy “Curly Joe” Wilson, Michael Bean, Troy Lowe, David Chew, Andrew Griffith, Khomeni Talbot are representing Curley’s Walking Football Club.

Walking football is small-sided game created by John Croot in 2011. It has rapidly grown worldwide, primarily attracting players over the age of 50.
