    • Lineage says:

as far as um concerned the female was not a part of the angry crowd nor was she cussing anybody, make sure you’re talking about the right “biatch” Truth.

How come there was no mention of about 15 police officers allegedly on ONE guy in the middle of the road. How come there was no mention of 5-6 male police officers allegedly tackling and assaulting this female of which was allegedly assaulted by a MALE cop firstly BEFORE she got allegedly jumped by the 5 of them and moreover had nothing to do with the fight!!! O ya i forgot…safety first and everyone is a criminal when they come upon such scenes!!! What i observed was horrific and i will never ever forget it!!!

      • Lineage says:

        thanks bernews…. ;)

I tell ya, they treated that poor lady like she was an animal, allegedly had her face down in the road handcuffed from behind on broken glass, pepper sprayed, dragged, carried straight out by several cops after they was all on top of her and allegedly pulled her through the back seat of a station wagon car and she wasn’t even in the fight and she had more blood coming from her face then the guys who where fighting. Overall, the cops overreacted and it was surprising that a riot did not break out. Looked like something you would see on TV in South Africa.

Good job BPS stength in numbers, when the man arrives if ya got nuffin to do with it move and keep on moving. Cursing at the man is an offence, like it or not. too often we have to poke in other peoples business. Again good job BPS we have to nip all this fullishnish in the bud. For every action there is a consequence.

    • areUserious? says:

Yes and the Police will get theirs. Yes it’s fine to have strength in numbers but on the flip side there is such a thing as excessive force…Judging my your comment you apparently were not there..Had you been there like myself and the others that have commented you would be singing a different tune…I wonder if you would say the same thing if it was your child? (if you have any)

Yes i understand that the police have a job to do but that was a bit much.

      • mixitup says:

The Police will get theirs? I swear it’s people like you that have gotten this society where it is today. If it was my child they will know better and have bolted from that scene at the first hint of trouble, and that’s IF they would be hanging out there in the first place. If my child was involved, I would assure you I would read her the riot act, not run to the police station yelling at them.

        • areUserious? says:

you don’t know me so please refrain from making personal statements….trust I have friends on the force both good and bad…YOU were not there apparently and I was..and as I said yes I agree that the police have a job to do but in this case it was a bit much..WTH is wrong with expressing my point of view..the minute someone does not agree or are on the same page it always turns into an issue. the issue here is not my comment okay the issue is how the incident transpired or played out…Maybe you need to see the footage..not that it would change your mind on how you would deal with it if it was your child but maybe you would see things in a different light..so mixitup don’t make it personal……

          • mixitup says:

You told me your character when you said the police (who are out their on the firing line on all our behalf) “Will get theirs.” That is ‘A’ Typical of someone who has not much regard for law and order. So for you to convince me that this lady was abused in some way…Ain’t gone happen! She probably yelled the same trash “You will get yours!” to the police – won’t surprise me.

            • areUserious? says:

@ mixitup all I have to say to you is if you wish to judge a book by its cover than thats entirely up to you..whilst I don;t agree about the opinion you have cast about me based on words I will respect it even though opinions are like A&*holes because everybody has one…As far as changing your mind or trying to convince you to think otherwise that is not my intent just as I am able to voice my opinion without fear or reprimand of what others think than you are entitled to do the same…And just for the record..you will not find my name in any Police Data Base..I have no convictions..speeding, stealing, obstruction or otherwise so I am pretty much as law abiding as your going to get..Just remember that this article is not about me or my opinion or even yours for that matter so lets not turn this into a debate..Have a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Prosperous to you and your family!!

  3. Truth says:

Ok….had to comment. It seems to me that everyone has the answers as to how the police should act, forgetting that they are in fact human beings themselves. Police get called there for a fight, when they get there they see a crowd of about 250 to lets say 300 people. They try to arrest people who begin to resist so pepper spray and taser where used. From what I saw the female attempted to ask why these guys where being arrested and allegedly grabbed a police officer during the process, because I guess she wasn’t being heard. So I guess during that time the officers reacted as if they where being assaulted.

I understand that a male officer on a female looks harsh but if you are gonna act up I can’t see why a police officer whether male or female can’t conduct an arrest. This has got to be the only country in the world where the public have to no regard for the law. Let something like this happen stateside and the same people running their mouhts about how the police do this and that would be as quiet as church mice.

In my opinion and again its an opinon, Bermudians feel they can do what they want regardless of what the law of the land states. Once they realize they can’t do what they want its an attitude and I hate police, but the same people call for police when they need help, their house gets broken into, and I can go on.

Bottom line to all of this, if people dont want to see police after their brilliant night out getting hammered then don’t fight, go home with the girl you been chatting up all night and be happy. Merry Christmas.

    • ok says:

I totally agree!!! This is the only country where police could be across the street dealing with someone, people then go across the street towards the police and get involved. They end up getting arrested then say, “they didnt have to do that” I hate police! But if they saw the same thing happen in the states they would mind their business. I have seen this time and time again. Bermudians think they can say and do what they feel with no reprisal. People come on here complaining the police dont do enough, they need to be more forceful but when they actually do it, then it goes back to they are too forceful and they didnt need so many police. lol You people need to make up your mind. I personally believe with the state of this island and the violence we are experiencing at the moment, they need to be even more zero tolerent and lock them all up.

      • areUserious? says:

I dont think anyone is saying that nothing should have been done but the issue is more or less with how it was carried out..The girl was allegedly being manhandled its as simple as that….the “you should mind your own business, let the police do their job, if they were in the states..etc..comments appear to be coming from those not present at the time..this of course, like other topics from time to time is going to be a case of if I don’t agree with you than your opinion doesn’t matter..I might not agree with what you have to say but I will be respectful of what you have to say..I’m not going to say who was right or who was wrong but you really had to be there to get the jist of what others are saying and why they are saying it..

  4. White Jesus says:

Ay spray first ask questions later innit ba! Ahhnn Lol

  5. mixitup says:

I agree – Well done Police! Im sick of people bashing the police. Don’t try to convince me that they just grabbed this girl out of the crowd, flung her to the groud and jumped on her. I watch a similar scenerio where a young girl was allegedly tasered on Front Street, running her mouth, flinging her hands around, just acting threatning. Take my advise, walk away from situations like that, follow police instructions and allow them to restore order.

  6. Triangle Drifter says:

It is great to have the luxury of hindsight. It is great too for those who were there beforehand & knew the leadup to the incident & who was involved.

The police did not have that luxury on either count.

They arrive, not knowing much of anything & have to deal with the situation as it presents itself. A tough job. They are not infalible.

If you are not involved, keep your drunken mouth out of it. If you find your face eating tarmac because you opened your mouth, don’t whine police brutality later.

    Good job BPS.
