20 Yr Old Man In Critical Condition After Collision

[Updated] A 20 year old Smith’s parish man is in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit following a motorcycle collision early this morning [June 29] in Sandys.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 1:40am on Sunday, June 29th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle collision on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Scaur Hill Drive.

“The injured motorcyclist, a 20 year old Smith’s parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in critical condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

“Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene. Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.”

Update June 30, 1.37pm: The 20 year old man remains in critical condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
