Very sad news. I felt good driving home from work last night at 1030 seeing two motorcycle cops and two car patrols during my 8 minute drive. Nothing good happens after midnight…

How tragic. Condolences to the families. Thoughts and prayers.

  7. te says:

Proud parent you read incorrect it was 2 accidents over night and 2 deaths. Ppl need to stop being rude when making comments and take a more mature approach. My condolences go out to both families and may they find comfort. Loosing someone close to you is never easy regardless on how they go.

  8. JT says:

Thoughts and prayers to the family..I sat with a car full of happy kids on their way home after the foam party, it was a reality check for all of us. We are deeply saddened at the loss of 2 people in one night.

  9. family says:

Condolences to both families of these young men.

  11. consideration says:

First of all I would like to send my condolences to all the families and friends involved. Secondly, people when you are making comments like that and going back n forth, you need to have some consideration for the family n friends that are trying to come to grips with their lost. Last but not least CAN’T STRESS IT OR SAY IT ANYMORE…PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND PAY ATTENTION WHEN RIDING OR DRIVING,

  12. Life is a invaluable commodity says:

Why are people insulting each other because of simple mistake. Two young men passed away and people are harping on each other over nothing. smh Rest In Peace and condolences to the family and friends

  13. daddyluv says:

R.I.P **** Cleveland boys for ever

  14. Cisco says:

    You ppl r so childish

  15. Truth is killin' me... says:

I heard cars flying down the road in Southampton this morning around 2am before this accident happened last night. It sounded like they were racing each other. I am not surprised at the least. If there was a set on up west then there were no cops on the road because these drivers didn’t have a care in the world. Radar…come out, come out wherever you are!

    • Danielle says:

I agree. Instead of the police being out at peak times to catch hard working citizens rushing off to work, maybe they should be out in the early hours more. They know people that are running late that go over the speed limit are easy pickings. How about coming out and catching the people that are deliberately speeding on the roads after hours. I have seen and heard it many times on my street.
With that, in no way am I saying either of these accidents was due to speeding. Sad and tragic news, and we don’t know what happened nor can we speculate.
My point is the police need to have a more visible presence after midnight. I work shifts, so I’m on the road at all hours. Their focus seems to be catching the early commuters. Their focus seems to be revenue, through tickets, not public safety.

  16. Linda Wales says:

Why are some of you on here harping over silly little matters? Two young men have lost their lives and two families are grieving, so rather than bash each other over petty s*** why don’t you focus your time and energy towards giving your condolences to the families? My deepest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family & friends of these two young men. So very sad. May God provide you with the comfort and strength to get through this.

  17. Terry says:

A sad night indeed as two families lost loved ones. My condolences to them.

Secondly people make mistakes as can be seen by the 100+ dislikes for a comment made by “proud parent’.

Let it go folks. Let go of the negativity and harsh comments made. Bermuda is so small on this planet yet many really live the life of the Young and The Restless when addressing issues and verbal electric voice.

Hiding behind pen names and attacking each other not even knowing whom to attack. Could be a sister, brother, Mother et al because we vent this way.

Bermuda has more to worry about than a person who misread/misinterpreted what was written.

Debt. Education. Jobs. Future should be your major concerns. And of course; slow down and be cautious.

Again back on topic; prayers to the family.

    Shalom.

    • Sheldon Cooper says:

I think people are annoyed that this person was being condescending and correcting someone else when they were indeed the wrong party-there are tons of people like that out there and it is irritating. Why didn’t ‘Proud Parent’ take the high road and keep quiet? NO-s/he just HAD to correct the next person and in the process ended up looking like an idiot. We all know the type-I can tell just by the username…the type that always think they’re right and everyone else is wrong, that s/he and their offspring are superior to everyone and just perfect in every way..well s/he was WRONG.

      RIP to the victims.

  18. Newly Optomistic Bermudian says:

    My condolences to both familys.

Why are the police not doing stop checks??
Huge party in dockyard and no cops stopping and checking for drunk drivers. 1000 plus people at snorkal park. Heres an idea get off your bikes out of your cars/jeeps set up road checks. Another idea stop and check every vehicle going over watford bridge/somerset bridge. Who thinks they would find a lot of drunk drivers after a party?? Also why is there not late night public transport for events like this?

    • Raymond Ray says:

Without repeating what you’ve written Newly Optimistic Bermudian I also agree with you 100%.

  19. Triangle Drifter says:

And the carnage continues. All in an area that would be less than the speed limit of a town anywhere else.

    Condolences to the families.

  20. Umm says:

So let me get this right.. someone lost their life.. and you all are arguing who reads slowest?…

    R.I.P

  21. Spot tester says:

Please Minister Dunkley, introduce road side sobriety tests!

  22. Annie says:

My daughter knew one of the victims well-she is devastated. My condolences go out to both families…this is so, so hard.

  23. just saying says:

  25. It's got to be a dream. says:

    My condolences to both families.

I’ve heard the news, read the article , seen the pictures, seen the posts and still think I’m dreaming. I’m hoping to wake up from this terrible dream. Its been a hard day at work of trying to holding the tears n hearing about the incident all day. My heart goes out to your family as well as the neighbourhood. (Bay/crawl). You will never be forgotten but will be truly missed. Your smile, your personality, your humbleness, just down to earth and a cool person. Cant belive your gone!! We all need to cherish eachother like tomrrow isnt promised..

  26. Red Pepper says:

Condolences to the families of the deceased.

I do find it odd that we never read about the inquests into these deaths, and whether they were caused by drink/drugs/speeding or a combination of all three.

Bermuda requires some serious education on it’s driving habits.

  27. Street Smart says:

Prayers and condolences go out to the family and friends.

  28. MB says:

    My condolenses to the families.

I agree with Danielle and others 100%. Waste of time for cops to be out ticketing people for 55k on Kindley and other areas in daylight … when we have our young people dying at this rate. I know it’s $$$ in the coffers the PLP depleted. But we have worse things to worry about now.

Why do we STILL not have police sobriety and speed checks islandwide on weekend nights ALONG WITH A PR CAMPAIGN about the checks? That would save not everyone but may have saved these two men and many others.
