Sunday January 15th: “Good News” Spotlight

News that CNN highlighted Bermuda among its “17 best places to visit in 2017,” the New York Red Bulls selected Bermudian footballer Zeiko Lewis in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Bermudian Damon Degraff is starring in a Cadillac commercial, and Pembroke East Legacy group honoured the founder of H&H Gombeys Lawrence “Stickers” Hendrickson, were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

Other good news stories included Shaun Goater praising Bermudian footballers Reggie Lambe, Jonte Smith, and Nahki Wells; Kim Swan offering free golf clinics for hospitality workers; Argus Group donating $15,000 to The Family Centre; four Bermuda athletes qualifying for the 2017 Carifta Games and Two & Quarter Photography Ltd wing a 2017 WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award.

In additional good news, Bermudian singer Twanée released a new music video for her song “Like Me,” the Green family is funding a new scholarship for students applying to Saltus Grammar School, a USA Today story highlighted Bermudian cuisine, Bermuda swimmers won medals in Canada, and the First Church of God launched an initiative aiming to provide low cost food

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Bermuda Marathon Weekend, the Duckett Memorial Rugby Game, the Goslings to Fairmont Southampton Race, the BNA Merle Parfitt Impact Tournament, and the Bermuda Heroes Weekend Band launch.
