Video: Sunday May 14th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Flora Duffy won in record setting style in Japan, Disney Cruises will sail to Bermuda in 2018, NBC’s Today Show will broadcast from the island, and Bermuda Sea Cadets will serve aboard tall ships were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Zeiko Lewis was named the Men’s Eagle of Year by Boston College, 9-year-old twins Alexis and Abbey Almeida are carrying on their family farming tradition, Tiara Derosa won the discus event in North Carolina, talented local musician Cush Evans won the Quest for Best Soca contest and Corrie Cross, Joshua DeAllie and Tashon DeSilva were awarded Teachers Rugby Football Club Scholarships.
Other good news stories included a Bermudian organizing the ‘Farm to Plate’ Conference in New York, CedarBridge Academy and BILTIR joining forces for exam preparation, and a 19th century art collection being gifted to the Bermuda National Trust.
