Video: Sunday Sept 24th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
Bermuda celebrating the International Day of Peace, Warwick Academy to officially rename their pool the “Flora Duffy Swimming Facility”, Delray Rawlins signing a contract extension with Sussex County Cricket Club, and Vogue UK featuring Bermudian model Alize Bailey were some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Reggie Lambe scored for Carlisle, Davidrose Jewelry will open a store in Hamilton, students & chefs were paired for ‘Plates of Passion’ fundraiser, talented young artists were awarded in the “Reflections of Bermuda” student art contest, and Bermuda-headquartered Bacardi stepped up with a $3 million donation to assist countries after the hurricanes and earthquakes.
Other good news stories included the Bermuda College expanding opportunities for students, Trey Simons winning in Alabama for second week in a row, Butterfield employees participating in a coastal cleanup, the Give Back Games raising over $54,000 for charity, and five students being awarded scholarships by the St. George’s Parish Council.
