‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ Season Starts On Jan 20
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] is set to launch the new season of ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ on January 20th, featuring monthly sessions at 11am and 2pm.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] is thrilled to announce the new season of ‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ is set to start on January 20th!
“‘Kids Hour Saturdays’ are held every third Saturday of the month at 11am and 2pm respectively. Each hour will feature the screening of a short film followed by a book reading for children aged 5-12 years.
“The first Kids Hour of the year will include an episode from Johnathan Bird’s Blue World: “Palau Jellyfish Lake! [Would you swim with a million jellyfish?]”
“This segment of Johnathan Bird’s Blue World follows his team as they visit the world-famous Jellyfish Lake in the Republic of Palau, an island nation located five hundred miles east of the Philippines in the Pacific Ocean. As the name implies, this marine lake situated within one of Palau’s numerous islands, is home to thousands of jellyfish.
“‘Peanut Butter and Jellyfish’ is a colorful picture book that follows Peanut Butter [the seahorse] and his best friend Jellyfish, as they go on an adventure throughout their ocean home to rescue their grumpy neighbor, Crabby. This whimsical story teaches children about friendship, the consequences of bullying, and the importance of apologising for one’s mistakes.
“Kids Hour Saturdays are free for members [Single Parent through Adventurer Tier] and all care givers, and $4 per child for non-members. Please note, caregivers must stay on site for the hour.
“Mark your calendars for a subsequent selection of Kids Hour Saturdays taking place on Saturday, February 17th and Saturday, March 16th.
“Space is limited and advance registration is encouraged. To register for BUEI’s Kids Hour Saturdays, please call 294-0204 or email giftshop@buei.bm.”
