Video: Sunday Feb 26th: “Good News” Spotlight

Cricketer Delray Rawlins making an impressive showing during England’s Under-19 tour of India, Neletha Butterfield releasing her ‘Speeches for the Soul’ book, Flora Duffy winning her 4th consecutive Xterra South Africa Championship title, Hannah Eggen being featured onstage at a Wyclef Jean concert, and Tyrone Smith setting a new Bermuda Indoor National Long Jump Record were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In other good news, Nikki Bascome maintained his undefeated professional boxing record with a victory over a Guyanese fighter, Dage Minors chalked up yet another win to take his career total to 15 championships, Tomorrow’s Voices Bermuda was voted “Best Autism Treatment & Prevention Centre – Caribbean” by a UK organisation, Reggie Lambe was selected for the Sky Bet EFL Team of the Week, and former soap opera actress Kate Mansi praised the island.

Other good news stories included Artemis Racing and Softbank Team Japan launching their America’s Cup race yachts, Bermuda Tourism winning multiple awards at a major travel industry awards presentation, Mikle Dill training at a prestigious South Africa Rugby Academy, Nonna’s Kitchen joining forces with the Bermuda National Trust to help improve the environment with a reusable bag programme, and Bermuda’s U20 football team taking part in the U20 CONCACAF Championships.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the High Flying Jump Showcase, women’s field hockey action, harness pony racing, football, Bermuda ‘Nitro Racing’, the Girl Guides Thinking Day Service, and the P.A.L.S. Charity Walk.
