Video: Sunday May 9th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Dr Eve De Rosa has been elected as Cornell University’s Dean of Faculty becoming the first woman and first Black person to hold the role, Anthony Swan has completed his law degree at the University of Buckingham, Demco donated 300 roses to nurses and Zeiko Lewis scored for Charleston Battery were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Talia Iris finished third in an online competition, Casey Truran and SCAD won the Tournament Of Champions, a virtual version of the No Limits Sailing Programme was held, Logan Watson-Brown broke two school records, Allied World promoted 19 employees, and a piece of art by Nicky Gurret was installed on the Railway Trail.
Other good news stories included the Ministry of Education celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, the Green family donating $7,500 to the Ignite Programme, Wallpaper Wednesday featuring the Heritage Month theme of ‘Bermudian Resilience’, model Aliana King being featured in a Nordstrom x Nike ad campaign, and PwC donating $100,000 to volcano relief efforts.
