News that Keeva Joell-Benjamin has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Corrections, becoming Bermuda’s first female Commissioner, Dame Flora Duffy was named in this year’s Sports Illustrated ‘Fittest 50′, Butterfield has increased its Bermuda undergraduate scholarship to $30,000, and the Garden Club of Bermuda donated $10,000 to KBB were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Rockal Evans won multiple races in the Australia Finn Club Championship Series, Caitlyn Bobb broke her school record in the 400m, Emmerson Carrington officiated a U19 World Cup quarter-final match, Jaaziah Van-Lowe saved two penalties, Kenni Thompson scored in a Lionesses win, Oryx featured the Greater Bermuda Land Snail, and Cha’Von Clarke-Joell will be the new Assistant Privacy Commissioner.
