Video: Sunday May 23rd ‘Good News’ Spotlight
A new BDADay.com website launching to showcase the Bermuda Day holiday, Sandys Parish Council awarding three Educational Bursaries, Bermuda College holding a virtual graduation, Shiona Turini styling two major magazine covers and Jah-Nhai Perinchief winning the SEC Championship gold medal were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the new St Regis Hotel opened creating over 100 new jobs, Keeon Minors won the Bermuda Marquee Sign Design Contest, Caitlyn Bobb won three events at track meet, Cathy Gurret Lama finished second in her triathlon division, equestrian Cody Rego excelled in Tryon Spring Series and AXA XL donated $40,000 to Covid-19 vaccination clinic.
In addition, a new seafood bar Marea opened at the Newstead Hotel in Paget, Kraft Cares raised $3,768.48 for Endeavour programme, WindReach launched a social-enterprise project, baseball player Adam Hall hit a home run in Aberdeen win, and Bermuda beeswax got an international launch.
