Video: Sunday Oct 16th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Dr Carika Weldon launched CariGenetics – which will focus on genomics research in Caribbean – Kennette Burgess won the Winston-Salem State University Founder’s Day Alumni Achiever Award, the Bermuda Robotics Team is getting set to compete in Geneva, and the Bermuda Post Office team cleaned up Botanical Gardens were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the Bermuda rugby team made an excellent showing to defeat Gibraltar 35 – 16 in World Rugby Classic action, Joshua Bate Trading is getting set to release a limited edition Flora Duffy tote bag designed by Makayla Paul, with net proceeds to be donated to The Flora Fund, and Kiwon Waldron won a heat in standardbred action in Canada.
Other good news stories included the Interact Club at Somersfield Academy working on three gardens on school property for charity, the Hospitals Auxiliary of Bermuda donating a van to Bermuda Hospitals Board’s Biomedical Engineering Department, and Nahki Wells was named PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for his performances in September.
