Video: Sunday April 30th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the Brownies held a clean-up, KraftHeinz and Butterfield & Vallis presented a cheque to WindReach for $3,684.50, Future Leaders Bermuda announced the promotions of Mckenzie-Kohl Tuckett and Seon Tatem to Assistant Director positions, and Suzanne Williams-Charles will be a featured panelist at the Insurance Europe International Conference in Paris this June were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Malcolm Durrant, President of the Bermuda Senior Golfers’ Society, presented a $5,000 cheque to Colleen English DeGrilla, Executive Director of P.A.L.S., Jahni Simmons was featured among the top 20 goals in the Concacaf U20 W Championship Qualification by Inside Caribbean Football, Cameron Basden won the FHSAA 2A District 7 long jump, and Eva Frazzoni helped Hashtag United win a title in the UK.
Other good news stories included a free health screening being held, bike groups raising money for Russ Ford, Weldon Wade being featured in Ebony magazine, Disney Cruise Line increasing its visits to to the island, and Elle highlighting the island, saying “there’s nowhere in the world like Bermuda”.
In further good news, Kamau Leverock led Handsworth to victory, Tyler Christopher claimed yet another boxing win, marking his seventh professional victory, Daniel Phillips won the J100 Canadian doubles title, and Jasmine Spence played a part in Newport Pagnell Town’s title win.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the SeaDream II cruise ship and superyacht Ocean Z visiting the island, multiple yachts in St George’s, the Warwick Academy International Day and year 8 Science Fair, and the Lindo’s Karting Grand Prix Race.
