Video: Sunday Oct 15th “Good News” Spotlight
News that Kamau Leverock was named tournament MVP, Eva O’Connor, Sofie Schrum, and Zarah Siddiqi were the winners of the WeSpeak video competition, St. George’s Parish Council awarded scholarships to Kezia Bean, Zyon Minors, Alaysia Swan, and Teressa Woolridge, BNA gave scholarships to Alaiyah Hayward, Mary Smith, Nadine Blake, Cusheah Smith, Dejhi McKoy, and Deann Trott, Tassel Bermuda’s “Adira” earring collection is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and WindReach received five acres of land were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news Justin Donawa scored in an Alatrincham win, Reggie Lambe won an award for top performance, Aaliyah Nolan scored for Bradford, Fischer scored twice in a Blair quarter-final win, Leilanni Nesbeth scored in a Florida State University win, and Nia Christopher scored in a Towson win.
Other good news stories included American Airlines relaunching flights to Washington Reagan National Airport, Age Concern getting set to develop the Admiralty House building, Chatmore spreading cheer on Mental Health Day, the International Day of the Girl was marked, Bernews’ Wallpaper Wednesday series featured a rocky outlook in the east end, and the City of Hamilton and Bermuda Archives are partnering to preserve old City documents.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Swizzle Festival and fundraising walk-a-thon in memory of Le-Jai Simmons.
