Video: Sunday May 19th ‘Good News’ Spotlight

News that over 100 students graduated from Bermuda College, $75,000 has been donated toward the Transformational Living Centre for Families, Lornell Taylor was named an ‘Inspiring Woman in ICT,’ AXA XL staff held a ‘Global Day of Giving,’ and tributes were paid to Bermuda’s foster parents were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, Karen Smith won her age group at the Ironman Santa Rosa, Kane Crichlow signed with Watford Football Club Under-23s on a two-year contract, Jillian Terceira won another class in the Netherlands, and Caelin Peters was selected for the Philadelphia All-City Classic Basketball team.

Other good news stories included the Bermuda Monetary Authority partnering with Tomorrow’s Voices for a ‘Day of Giving,’ the Coalition for the Protection of Children achieving certification through the BNSC, Sam Stevens and Jay Webster being called to the Bermuda Bar, Somersfield students taking part in a Model United Nations conference, and Elliot Primary holding its spring fair.

More good news included Sandys Secondary Middle School taking top honours at the Lemonade Day Taste Testing Competition, Gas-O-Rama celebrating 50 years with a donation to local charities, the Bermuda National Gallery Lecture Series featuring Ashley Dunn, and Ashley’s Lemonade setting up a stand in St. George’s.
